    Hi,

been thinking about experimenting with an optical printer - for a while

    then researched it

then realised what i was basically looking at was an aerial transfer unit

replacing the video cam with a cin? camera (macro), and single-frame filming, frames passing through the projector's film gate

    does this sound right, please?

    thanks

except the bulb has to be reduced in wattage without affecting the color temperature. I know somebody who has a J & K optical printer. If you are interested let me know and I'll see if I can hook you two up.

yeah, that may make it harder to want to buy something without first inspecting it.

    yep,

this is more or less what i have anyway

    http://www.jkcamera.com/optical_printer.htm

the only real difference is that the projector is not synched to the camera, and while the camera can take one frame at a time, i must experiment to work out when single frames appear in the projector's film gate, presumably by manually turning the shutter?
